Kids' learning world

Places for children to wander and wonder

Beyond assigned activities, children get three open spaces: a picture encyclopedia to explore, a sound-building playground and a companion to talk to.

Overview

What it does

Wikido is a picture encyclopedia. Each topic is a set of full-screen scenes with glowing hotspots. Children tap to read or listen, and some hotspots are doors into a deeper scene. The flagship topic, Living Things, has six scenes and 40 discoveries three levels deep. Content is hand-curated and pre-recorded, not generated live.

The Phonics Playground lets children drag A to Z blocks onto an endless canvas, hear each sound, and join blocks to build words. A golden speaker reads a row aloud, even for nonsense builds, so children hear what their letters sound like together.

Explore is a live voice companion with Exploration and Learning modes. It starts from the child's interests, pitches explanations from their progress, and runs on the Gemini Live API.

Parents stay in control

Reply length, pace, language and notes the companion should avoid can be set for each child before a conversation begins.

  • Wikido content is curated by people and pre-recorded rather than generated live.
  • Open play does not need a curriculum assignment.
  • The companion is briefed on the child by the server and looks up more detail on demand.

FAQ

Common questions

Is the companion safe for young children?

Parents configure how it speaks, set topics to avoid and can review session highlights. It is not a replacement for supervision.

How many Wikido topics are there?

The flagship Living Things topic is published; more can be added by curation.

Does phonics work with Arabic?

The playground is built around Latin letters and English phonics. Arabic reading is handled by the Quran and Noorani Qaida activities.
